Best of 2012
Happy New Year!!!! I hope everyone had a wonderful (and safe) New Year and that 2013 is off to a great start. We rung in the new year on the shore, enjoying a peacefulness that can not easily be found living in the DC area. While thinking back on this past year I decided to do a 2012 recap post. 2012 brought a fair bit of changes to Dancing Veggies, and I thought it only fitting to reflect on some of the more memorable moments. I joined two AWESOME new (to me) link-up groups, Random Recipes and 52weeks, both of which challenged me to think outside of the box and try new ingredients. 2012 was also my first full year of Secret Recipe Club, which will be returning Monday the 7th at 12PM EST! I have met so many amazing people joining these groups, and look forward to joining a few more groups in 2013.
I also had my highest viewed post in a single day in 2012: Kit-Kat cookies! I had NO idea this post would get anywhere near the amount of traffic it did, and still can’t believe that a it was so popular. I’m not sure what sort of candy recipe I’ll have for Halloween 2013 but I can see a candy-based recipe becoming an annual thing. The most viewed recipe in the history of Dancing Veggies also came from 2012 in the form of Double Chocolate Sea Salt Cookies.
In 2012 I focused on seasonal and local ingredients, something I will continue into 2013, however I want to add something to this. I also had my first “theme” week, where I focused on a few of my favorite Hanukkah recipes such as Ricotta Kugel. I hope to do a few more theme weeks, and if anyone had any ideas for what they would like to see please let me know!
I already have a few ideas for the new year and hopefully I’ll be able to start sharing them shortly 🙂
So here’s to 2013!!!! May the new year bring everything you want and more 🙂
